Description
3-5 ft. tall x 4-6 ft. wide. Desert Spoon or Sotol (Dasylirion wheeleri) is a long-lived native of the native Chihuahuan desert. Its attractive evergreen succulent forms a large rosette of toothed blue-green leaves that beautifies the landscape year-round. Once mature, the plants bloom with a tall, pole-like flower spike that holds on the plant for through the winter. Sotol is very long-lived and the plants will eventually form a short woody truck and may even grow multiple rosettes after several decades.
