Description
Become a pollinator hero with our Superstar Aster Collection. Asters (Symphyotrichum) are versatile and easy to grow in perennial gardens and naturalized meadow-style plantings. As a nectar-and-pollen-rich food source pollinators, they provide some of the season’s last food for pollinators. Create a spectacular Aster border by planting the taller plants in the back, graduating to mid-size with the short growers along the front. Mix in some autumn-flowering Salvia, Echinacea (Coneflower) Coreopsis, and Monarda (Bee Balm) for an easy-care, colorful, long-blooming garden. Plant in average soil in a sunny location with consistent watering. As they establish, they will become more drought tolerant. Divide in spring every 3 years to reinvigorate the plants.
The Superstar Aster Collection includes 5 plants, covering approximately 8-12 square feet when planted together:
- ‘Raydon’s Favorite’ Aromatic Aster
- ‘Dream of Beauty’ Aromatic Aster
